A friend quoted this and if you think about it, it does make sense.
Our state is out of money, people in the state are taking pay cuts, getting laid off, getting foreclosed and it sucks. But, evidently we have enough money to pay over one hundred CHP officers (who are probably on overtime) to stand around and watch a motorcade for Michael Jackson. I wonder if they are getting IOU's for their paycheck?California is so backwards.

what's worse is the city of los angeles is now asking the public for help in covering the cost. they've set up a website where people can make donations. wtf?
